EASY Astronaut Ration Lunch Bag!

Nathan recently took a trip to the moon. (Seriously! Click on the video below to watch it!)

Anyway, I wasn't about to let my little astronaut go hungry, so I made him an astronaut lunch ...complete with an astronaut ration bag! It was REALLY easy to do and he was OVER THE MOON (pun intended) when he saw it! :)

Here's what you'll need-

1 large mylar bag. I used a generic sugar free sweetener bag, but you could probably use any chip bag that is silver inside.

Hot glue and glue gun.

A black sharpie.

Stencil. (Optional.)

Here's how to put it together-

1. Wash the bag thorougly!

2. Cut the zipper top off the top of the bag (or off of a gallon size Ziploc bag if you are using a chip bag) and set aside.

2. Turn the bag inside out.

3. Trim off the bottom of the bag before it begins to turn (or leave it as is if you prefer).

4. Hot glue the zipper INSIDE the inside out bag. You may need to trim a little off to get it to fit.

5. Hot glue the bottom of the bag where you cut the bottom off.

6. Stencil (or fake it messily like I it like I did here) "Astronaut Ration" on the side of the bag using a Sharpie.

7. Fill with your favorite rations. Nathan had freeze dried strawberries, beef jerky and a Capri Sun.

8. Blast off to space!
